Welcome to South and this Live YouVersion Event. Today Pastor Scott is taking a look into the insights that we can learn from the year 2020, in hindsight. It's always easier to interpret events from after they have passed. We hope that you will enjoy the notes and Scriptures below, to supplement Pastor Scott's message!
Lesson #1: Something (way) better is coming.

1) The world we live in is subject to futility.
2) The world we live in is in bondage to corruption.

Lesson #2: God is faithful to His promises.

This promise in 1 John 4 can give us confidence: “Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.”
This kind of promise Romans 2 is meant to warn us: “Or do you presume on the riches of his kindness and forbearance and patience, not knowing that God's kindness is meant to lead you to repentance? But because of your hard and impenitent heart you are storing up wrath for yourself on the day of wrath when God's righteous judgment will be revealed.”
Lesson #3: God is in control of the number of our days.

While we like to think that we can extend the number of our days by following a strict diet, or working out on a consistent basis, or being careful as to the situations that we put ourselves in, the reality is that the number of days of our lives have already been determined by God and written in his book. Since we have no ability to lengthen the number of days in our life, and because the days that we do have pass by so quickly, we need to be living each day for Christ like it is our last.
Lesson #4: Physical connection is vital.

As real Vitamin D from the sun is more effective in our bodies, affecting our wellness, than a pill-form of vitamin D - there is no suitable substitute for genuine face-to-face interaction. God made us to need it. We have all missed the interaction of being close to those we know and love.

Secret Sister

We all know that in today's world it is so easy to FEEL disconnected-- or actually BE disconnected-- from people in our lives. So, in Spring 2021 the SBC Women's Ministry Team wants to reconnect you with your sisters in Christ and maybe even meet a new sister!Join us and become a Secret Sister to an awesome woman within our own church family! What is it to be a Secret Sister? You will be assigned a Sister, and over 3 months you will commit to praying for them, encouraging them with a note, or maybe even surprising them with a treat to brighten their day once in a while. If you would like to participate, please fill out the survey at the link below by January 24 so we can provide someone with information about you! Please reach out to Carrie West if you have any questions!

Text Giving

If you would like to set up text giving from your phone, just text any amount to '84321', and you will receive a link that walks you through the setup process. It takes a few minutes to set it up, but then after the initial setup, it will take just a few seconds to give your offering this way. Highly recommend it!
