1. The purpose of being planted is to produce fruit.
Meeting together is connected to motivation each other to serve.
2. The problem of "no fruit" must be fixed at the root.
Waste is not a waste, it's fertilizer.
3. Producing fruit takes patience and perseverance.
Open Up

What is something you believed as a child and then were disappointed to find out was not true?
Discuss (choose one or two for your group)

- Is producing fruit more about the fruit of the Spirit or making disciples? How could they be connected?

- What does it look like in real life to not be producing fruit?

- How can our disappointments be like fertilizer (dung) for our roots?

- Make a list of actual ways people invest in nourishing their roots.

Big Idea

The purpose of being planted is to produce fruit (Galatians 5:16-23, Colossians 2:6-7).
Engage

Pastor Matt challenged us to serve as a way to produce fruit. Is God prompting you to respond to that challenge in any way?

Consider the area you thought of when Pastor Matt asked, “What is one area where you are facing disappointment?” What might God have to offer in the midst of the stuff you are facing?

What is a step you can take this week in response to your thoughts about these questions?
Prayer

Pray for revival to be something we live out in our real life. Pray for those facing real life disappointment that they will find hope in the midst of their situation.
