It's a New Year! A time where people generally assess their life and think about making changes.
Results from a popular survey of New Year Resolutions by Americans:
1. Enjoy life to the fullest (45.7%)
2. Live a healthier lifestyle (41.1%)
3. Lose weight (39.6%)
4. Spend more time with family and friends (33.2%)
5. Save more, spend less (30.1%)
6. Pay down debt (27.5 %)

We must have the want to and the will do if we are to accomplish any goals for our life.

During this series we'll be looking at five areas of our spiritual life in which each of us must take personal responsibility:

Today's challenge will be to Study God's Word: The Discipline of Bible Reading.
We believe that the Bible is God's Word to humanity. We believe it is true and can be trusted. It is an expression of His love for us!
We must develop the skill of Bible reading and the regular study of God's Word and apply it to our lives.

Our text this morning is 2 Timothy 3:15-17 [TLB]
Here are five benefits we will gain from reading God's Word regularly:
1. SALVATION
v. 15 “You know how, when you were a small child, you were taught the holy Scriptures; and it is these that make you wise to accept God’s salvation by trusting in Christ Jesus.”

As we begin the New Year, we challenge you to read God's Word and apply it to your life. You will have to DO IT YOURSELF, no one else can do it for you.
