This truth is for the 1st century church as well as the 21st century church: You are exiles. This is not your home.
Peter's opening message to exiles: Embrace the Exiled Lifestyle
Mark Sayers: "Cultural exhaustion opens the doorways to the human heart."
I. The Exiled Lifestyle is one of Praise! v. 3-5
Praise for a new life, a living hope, and an eternal inheritance.
II. The Exiled Lifestyle is one of Tribulation. v. 6-7
Not for the sake of crushing you, but for the sake of purifying you.
III. Encouragement: This is not Plan B. v. 10-12
