Our text during the month of December is Luke 1 & 2. The chapters detail the story of God’s plan to rescue mankind from our selfish and sinful lifestyles.
Each week we've looked at a passage from these chapters and learned some truths and lessons about God that should be applied to our lives.
Most Bible commentators point to a Christmas Play List here in these two chapters. The list contains what they refer to as four songs:
-Mary’s Song Luke 1:46-55 What God is like? [Personal, Powerful, Promise-Keeper]
-Zechariah’s Song Luke 1:67-79 Why mankind needs Christmas? [Sin]
-The Angel’s Song Luke 2:1-14 Who was born on Christmas day? [Jesus]
-Simeon’s Song Luke 2:25-35 How should Christmas impact our lives?

Do you enjoy waiting? Most people don't!
Topping the list of things we hate waiting for are:
1. standing in line
2. being on hold while using the phone
3. airport security lines
4. sitting in a doctor's office
5. slow drivers, walkers, or talkers
6. anticipating a digital response from someone
7. people who are more than "fashionably" late
What else would you add?

People will tolerate waiting and can actually enjoy it for a period of time if the object they are waiting for has value to them.
Two fairly common quotes along these lines:
"Good things come to those who wait."
"Things worth having are worth waiting for."
Example- Green Bay Packers season tickets

Statistics show that the average person spends close to an hour everyday waiting for something. When added up over a lifespan of 70 years, the average person will spend more than 3 years of their lives waiting for something to happen.
