INTRO: 3 Types of Faith…

Saving Faith is faith that comes through the enlightenment of the Holy Spirit.

So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.”Acts 16:31

The Fruit of Faith is the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness... Gal 5:22

The Gift of Faith is an empowered of the Holy Spirit that comes upon the believer at a particular time.

And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.1 Corinthians 13:2

WORD POWER: Faith (pistis)- the confidence that God will do what He has promised.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Hebrews 11:1

ANALYSIS: The Gift of FAITH….

1.Manifests Mercy under Pressure
“Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: After His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit. 19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man,and not wanting to make her a public example, was minded to put her away secretly. Matt 1:18-19

2. Manifests Courage in the face of Fear

But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.Vs 20


3. Manifests in Direction by Revelation.

So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying: 23 “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.” Vs 22-23


4. Manifests in Obedience to God

Then Joseph, being aroused from sleep, did as the angel of the Lord commanded. Vs 24


5. Manifests in the Acceptance of Jesus!

and did not know her till she had brought forth her firstborn Son. And he called. Vs 25


But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6 and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast. Eph 2:4-8
