Worship Gathering: 12/13/2020

Worship Gathering: 12/13/2020

We are currently only having VIRTUAL WORSHIP SERVICES. In addition, all in-person activities have been cancelled. Watch our emails or check the website for how to participate virtually. While our place of worship has changed from the usual place and time, we are grateful to know that the Body of Christ can worship anytime, anywhere. And a building is just that - a building. The Church is the people, not the place where we worship. In these troubled times, our witness for Jesus Christ can be evident to those around us as we take wise precautions, while simultaneously living out our faith with what it means to have a peace that passes all understanding. May you be blessed this week as we see God at work through these unprecedented times. We can get through this together. Our God is able.

Good News of Great Joy!
Luke 2:10
Pastor Jerry Koller
"The celebration of Advent is possible only to those who are troubled in soul, who know themselves to be poor and imperfect, and who look forward to something greater to come." ~ Dietrich Bonhoeffer
Isn’t it interesting that the human emotion that was first encountered as a result of the angelic messenger was that of fear?
The phrases "Fear not!", “Do not Fear!” or “Don’t be afraid!” appear in the Bible exactly 365 times.
The opposite of fear is Joy.
The presence of Jesus in our lives should manifest two basic characteristics: the absence of fear and the presence of joy.
Anytime something strikes terror in our hearts or grips us with the cold hand of fear, anytime we are anxious, troubled, or weary; anytime something seems to threaten us or our loved ones, the door opens for fear to enter.
Happiness is always circumstantial.
Joy is an internal attitude that resided in our spirit.
· It is a Spiritual Fruit.
· It is grounded in God.
Joy is a supernatural delight in God.
Joy delights in God even though circumstances change, people change, and emotions change.
· God is immutable.
· He is not subject or susceptible to change or variation in form, quality, or nature.
Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame. (Heb. 12:2)

Oktoberfest Offering

We are greatly humbled by the generosity of our congregation. So far, this year’s offering, combined with pledges, is a total of $33,617.00. We thank you for your faithfulness, especially during such challenging times, and look forward to seeing how God will use our building in the year ahead as we continue to “Know Him and Make Him Known.” If you would still like to make a contribution to this offering, please mail your gift to church or donate online. If you make an online donation, please also let Kim know your gift is for Oktoberfest as there isn’t a way to designate this on the website.
