3. Jesus says that the laws of the Old Testament are summed up in the commands to love God and love one’s neighbor (Matthew 22:40). How would you respond to someone who said that the laws which governed Israel’s society no longer have any validity for us, since Christians aren’t under the Law of Moses (see 2 Timothy 3:15-16)?
4. How do the biblical writers use the term “justice” (Micah 6:8)? Why is it crucial for us to develop a biblical view of justice? How is the biblical definition of justice similar to modern definitions of the term? How is it different?
5. How is the biblical view of justice broader than some modern definitions (see Ezekiel 18:5-8)? How does this change the way we view caring for the vulnerable?
6. On the one hand, God commands his people to treat others impartially. On the other hand, he commands us to have a special concern for the vulnerable? How do we reconcile these two commands?

7. How does pursuing justice factor into your walk with Christ? As a disciple, do you tend to focus more on matters of personal righteousness, or public righteousness? As disciples, why is it crucial that we focus on both (see James 1:27)? What would it look like for you to make the pursuit of justice a more regular rhythm of your walk with Christ?
