O Holy Night!
The stars are brightly shining
It is the night of the dear Savior's birth!
Long lay the world in sin and error pining

A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn!

Pining is to suffer a mental and physical decline, especially because of a broken heart.

The world has been falling apart since the fall of man in sin, because the consequences of sin affect everything in all of creation.

The arrival of Jesus awakened hope and gave Israel reason to rejoice, because their long prophesied savior had finally arrived.

We don’t simply know of a savior being born, We know of a savior’s mission being fulfilled.

What should our response be to this news about Jesus?

1. Fall on your knees
- Jesus is the King of kings, ruler of all, yet He humbled Himself for our sake

2. Listen
- Not for angel's voices, but to the living Word of God
