The Pharisees had an image problem with the Messiah:
- Strong Warrior King
- Political Figure
- Would Uphold Their Traditions

Who the Messiah was:
- Friend to Sinners (Matt. 9:11)
- Healer on the Sabbath (Luke 6:7)
- Forgiver of Sins (Mark 2:7)
- At odds with the Pharisees (Matt 12:34)

1. Everyone carries an image with them.

The culture you surround yourself with shapes your image.
What image are you carrying in your pocket?

Adam and Eve bore the full likeness (image) of God.

2. God’s true image is being completed through the Holy Spirit working in our lives.

Because of Christ, you are:
- God’s temple and God's Spirit dwells in you. (1Cor. 3:16)
- A son/daughter, and if a son/daughter, then an heir through God. (Galatians 4:7)
- A new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. (2 Cor. 5:17)
- His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works. (Eph 2:10)
- Anointed. (2 Cor. 1:21-22)
- Free indeed. (John 8:36)
- Strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. (Eph 6:10)
- Called and chosen and faithful. (Rev. 17:14)
- The righteousness of God. (2 Cor. 5:21)
