September 16, 2018 In Chapter 17, God revealed to John the demise of the religious system of the day, the Great Prostitute of the last kingdom of men, and now in Chapter 18, we see her funeral song from four different voices. She is one who opened up her arms wide to the world and all it had to offer. She is likened to a city that is so fully engaged with the world’s business, that she is engulfed with exalting herself and her own kingdom, instead of God’s. It is the sad song of a religious body that was consumed with consuming, rather than living in the light of what is yet to come… eternity. Imagine a church body like that…
