North Platte Berean Church
Hope's Firm Foundation
2020 has been both challenging and clarifying. From the global pandemic to political and racial tensions, it's increasingly clear: the things we tend to hope in can't bear the weight of our expectations and desires. Sports and fine arts activities, vacations, gathering with friends, funerals, graduations, and weddings have all been delayed or even cancelled. These losses can be devastating…or we can let disappointment remind us of the only Unshakable Hope – a hope that started before the foundation of time and lasts into the life to come. A hope that came into our sin-stained and hopeless world through a tiny baby named Jesus.

Suffering actually produces hope
This hope doesn't disappoint

2020 has been a tough year for the word hope. In the second week of Advent, we'll see another way that the incarnation of Jesus brings hope – by demonstrating that when we're at our worst, God graciously and lovingly moves not away but toward us!
