DEBRIEF:
• As we wrap up Life Group session one and our discussion through Colossians, what is your biggest take away?
• Think for a minute about the clothes in your closet and your drawers. What do they say about who you are?
DIG:
• Read Colossians 3:12-17 out loud.
DISCUSS:
1. Paul opens in v. 12 with a reminder of who we are in Christ, “as God’s chosen ones, holy and dearly loved”. What gives us the right to these titles?
2. Circle two or three words from the list below that best describe how you feel about being “chosen, holy and dearly loved”:

doubtful, grateful, happy, skeptical, hopeful, valued, relieved, honored, unworthy, undeserving, contented, confident, humbled, awe & wonder, safe, secure, accepted
3. The five-character qualities we are told to ‘put on’ or ‘clothe ourselves with’ are compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. If this list was featured in an online clothing catalog and you had a gift card for one new ‘garment’, which one would you put in your cart today, and why?
4. In the sermon, Pastor Dan said, “Don’t make a list of these and try to do them in your own strength, because you will fail. Instead you must attach yourself to Jesus.” How do we attach ourselves to Jesus? How do we live out these five-characteristics with God’s power? How is it different than trying to change ourselves through personal willpower?
5. Can you think of a situation in which you might need one of these five-character qualities? How would you rely on God for help in this particular situation?
DO:
• Read John 10 three times this week. Pick one thing the Good Shepherd does that speaks to your soul. How does this help you to be hidden in Christ?
