Big Yellow Taxi - Jonie Mitchell

When we lost the freedom we had before the pandemic to go anywhere we wanted, etc, it caused us to re-evaluate and change our perspective on time and relationships. Reminds me of the lyrics to Joni Mitchell's 1960's song Big Yellow Taxi - "Don't it always seem to go that you don't know what you've got till it's gone." check it out on the link.

How has the pandemic changed your perspective on what you're thankful for?
Rather than thinking of this time as being "all wrong", or that "things shouldn't be this way". We're encouraged to to consider the question, "What can God do with this time?" or "How might He want me to use my time and relationships for His glory, to bless me and others while advancing His Kingdom?"

Corrie Ten Boom - thankful for the fleas

Many times giving thanks for everything doesn't feel right or make sense. Corrie Ten Boom tells of her experience with flease in a Nazi Concentration camp where she learned later why she gave thanks for the fleas.

Being Simply Thankful for all things really comes down to trusting that God is still in control, even when our feelings and our understanding tell us that everything is out of control
Being Simply Thankful for all the Time, Talent and Treasures that God has entrusted to us translates into action as we use those gifts to reach out to others bringing God's love to them so that He can use us to further His Kingdom. Then as we hear in the Gospel reading that follows, God will say to us, "Well done, good and faithful servant.
And now may the peace of God that passes all understanding keep your hearts and minds at rest as you trust in Christ Jesus... Amen.
