The Pattern - Part 5
Introduction:
Pattern: anything fashioned or designed to serve as a model or guide for something to be made: a paper pattern for a dress; a combination of qualities, acts, tendencies, etc., forming a consistent or characteristic arrangement; an original or model considered for or deserving of imitation:
Proverbs 31:10
- Virtuous = wealth, strong, able, forces, substance, valiant (a war term).

Recap: God created female; made woman; equal but different.

1. Gen 3:1- Giving time & space to Satan.
2. Gen 3:1b - The mind is the devil’s playground.
3. Gen 3:3 - The dilemma of division.
4. Gen 4:4-5 - Be like me!
“gods” = judges; magistrates; supreme.
Woman “gave” = insist, cry, bid, appoint, direct.
5. Genesis 3:7-10 - See, run, hide. Human’s natural response to the burden of sin.
Eyes were opened after both had disobeyed.
“Naked” = uncovered; exposed; without protection; vulnerable. Disobedience always invites running, hiding, and blame.
Gave in vs. 6 = gavest in vs. 12 “nathan” = appoint; insist; cry as in to insist or force.
“To be with me” = Adam acknowledges Woman’s equality.
“The woman that you forced on me, to be on equal assignment with me, has just as much authority and power as I, and is really responsible for this mess, made me do it!”
**So not only did he disobey but he refused to take responsibility!

8. Vs. 15 - Becoming a part of Jesus puts a target on your back.
9. Vs. 20 - Adam recognizes and acknowledges her individuality and separateness vs. their unity.
10. Vs. 22 - Limited ability.
“One” = root word “achad” = go one way or another.
Pro 5:1-3 = We talked about the pattern of the Woman of faith & virtue. Next week we will talk about the woman that’s insecure & strange.
Strange = to turn aside; foreign (to Godliness); profane; come from another
