2. What is my spending plan?

Guard against greed because your net worth does not determine your life's worth.
3. Why am I generous?

Generosity is the guard against greed and the pathway for provision.
Open Up

Talk about a time when you gave or received a generous gift. What did it feel like?
Discuss (choose one or two for your group)

- Make two lists together
- Things we can control about our finances.
- Things that are out of our control about our finances.

- What are some tools people use for spending plans?

- Read Ecclesiastes 5:10 and Proverbs 30:8-9. If “greed is simply the excessive desire for more,” how can people know if their desire is excessive?

- Pick one of Pastor Matt’s questions and talk about it:
- “When we spend more than what we earn what if we are actually spending more than what God has provided for us?”
- “What if God is teaching us contentment by how much he provides?”

- What keeps people from spending less than they earn? What can they do about those reasons?
Big Idea

Generosity is the guard against greed (Luke 12:21)
Engage

On a scale of 1 to 10 with 1 being totally peaceful and 10 being panicked, where would you rate your fiscal stress level? Take a moment and ask God what it would take to lower that number?

What is one specific way you can practice generosity this week?

Prayer

Ask God to highlight places you can be grateful this week.
