The Path - Week 3
WHY WE NEED EACH OTHER?
“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.” Matthew 5:14 - 15
“Now about your love for one another we do not need to write to you, for you yourselves have been taught by God to love each other.”
1 Thessalonians 4:9
“Two are better than one… If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no-one to help him up! Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.” Ecclesiastes 4:9 - 12
“You are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.” 1 Corinthians 12:27
“The eye cannot say to the hand, ‘I have NO NEED of you,’ nor again the head to the feet, ‘I have NO NEED of you.’” 1 Corinthians 12:21
How do we take care of Christ’s body?
We participate
We serve
We get involved
Pray for each other.
Value all people.
Take care of each other’s needs
We gather with a Circle of Friends
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.” 2 Corinthians 1:3 - 4
“For by (Christ) all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities — all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And He is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent.” Colossians 1:16 - 18
