SAMSON'S LIFE (13-16)
Five symptoms of the "Samson syndrome":
1) we neglect God's Work in our lives & Word for our lives (ch.13)
2) we flirt with the world, stop listening to wise Biblical counsel, and we let our fleshly desires rule our lives (14:1-3,8-9; 16:1, 5-20)
3) we justify our vengeful actions. It's always someone else's fault for what I do (15:1-8, 16:3)
4) we see God work victoriously on our behalf, but we complain selfishly (15:14-20)
5) we rely on our own strength to get out of troublesome situations (16:20)
SAMSON'S LOSS (16:21-31)
Sin's terrible steps: it blinds you, binds you, and grinds you!
"When 'godly' leaders don't act godly they give an opportunity for the enemy to rejoice over sin and reject the truth."
"It was when he died that Samson's greatest victory came."
"though we fail over and over in many ways, God can redeem a life even in those last breaths"
Will I allow the fleshly desires to rule my life causing destruction? Or will I repent of my sin, be empowered by His Spirit, and live in God's victory?
