The Kingdom of God was designed by our heavenly Father to be advancing and increasing. Based on New Testament imagery, the church has sung “Onward, Christian Soldiers” and “A volunteer for Jesus, a soldier true.” But in Jesus’ teaching we see a different metaphor. Rather than always seeing the Kingdom of God as . . .
