Faith 101

1. God’s view on faith?
- a.Without faith it’s impossible to please God. Hebrews 6:11
- b.The Just shall live by faith. Galatians 3:11
The just – one who has been justified by the blood of Jesus
Shall live – as a lifestyle
By faith – acting on what we believe (the Word of God)

2. What is faith? Hebrews 11:1
- a.Believing in something to be true and relying on (acting on) the fact that it’s true.
- Trusting in something you can’t prove yourself and acting on what you believe. James 2:19
- b.Moves things God has provided for us from the spiritual realm to the physical realm.

3. How can we have faith? 2 Peter 1:3

4. Where do we get faith?
- a. We are given the measure of faith. Romans 12:3
- b. Faith comes by hearing the Word of God. Romans 10:17

5. How do we walk by faith?
- a. It is the opposite of walking by sight. 2 Corinthians 5:7
- b. Get the Word and act on it. Romans 10:17

6. Why do we need faith?
- a. To produce perseverance, to become mature and complete, to lack nothing James 1:2-4 NIV, 1 John 5:4-5
- b. To be an example 1 Timothy 4:12

Where’s the Honor? Where’s the Love? Where’s the Respect?

Introduction:
- The world has downgraded the importance and the significance of honoring, loving, and showing basic respect.

1. Honor Begets Honor: (Exodus 20:12 KJV)
- Honor, love, and respect must start in the home.
- Honor begets honor.
- Love causes Love.
- Respect produces respect.
- Ephesians 6:1-3 (MSG)
- Paul highlights, that Honor is the 1st Commandment with a promise attached.
- God wants to influence your behavior.

2. Love Begets Love (John 15:9 KJV)
- Honor starts within the framework of love.
- God’s nature and character is love.
- Jesus emulates His Father.
- We should emulate Jesus.
- Matthew 22:37-40 (KJV)
- Inherit in loving God is loving you!
- Hating yourself is the ultimate sign of disrespect.
- Who are you to call God a liar?

3. Respect begets respect: (Acts 10:1-5, 7, 19-21, 28, 34 KJV)
- Book of Acts is of paramount importance.
- Church had only respect for the Jews.
- v7
----> A devout man surrounds himself with other devout men!
----> Who do you surround yourself with?
- v 19
----> The Holy Spirit moved on the heart of Cornelius.
----> Don’t missed the move of God?
----> God will work with open, accessible, willing and obedient vessels.
- v 20 3 specific personal acts of God:
--->1. Sent an Angel to Cornelius
--->2. Gave Peter a vision
--->3. Spoke to Peter & gave him instructions
- v 34
----> Peter convinced & convicted.
----> God is no respector!
----> Jesus is Lord. He will save all on the same terms!
- Ephesians 2:8
- Grace is synonymous with honor, love, and respect!
- God has been gifting you with His grace.
- How did you make it through the BC (Before Christ) days?

Conclusion:
God’s plan for your success:
- Honor begets Honor
- Love causes Love
- Respect produces Respect
God is a persistent gentleman.
- Commit to God and He will commit to you!
