HEARING GOD’S WHISPER

1. WHERE ARE YOU?

ASKED OF ADAM WHEN HE HID AND COVERED HIS NAKEDNESS. HE ATE FROM THE WRONG TREE & FORFEITED HIS PLACE OF AUTHORITY & INHERITANCE

2. WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?

ASKED OF ELIJAH WHILE HE WAS IN THE CAVE (HE DID NOT FINISHWHAT GOD ASKED HIM TO DO)

3. WHAT TREE ARE YOU EATING FROM?

John 5:19 NIV19 Jesus gave them this answer: “Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does

John 4:34 WNT
"My food," said Jesus, "is to be obedient to Him who sent me, and fully to accomplish His work.

· Jesus ate the food of will of God. He ate from only one table and one tree.

· What he saw the Father do Jesus did

· What he heard from the Father Jesus spoke

· What the father prayed Jesus also prayed

· One vision, unison & congruent in thought, word & deed (actions)

John 6:27WEB
Don't work for the food, which perishes, but for the food, which remains, to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you. For God the Father has sealed him."

You will be spiritually nourished when you work for the food that lasts for eternity.

Ecclesiastes says God puts eternity in our hearts.

Eternity is a long time while our time on the earth is limited.

1 John 2:6 APBE
He who says, “I am in him”, must walk according to his walk.

1 John 2:6 CEV
If we say we are his, we must follow the example of Christ.

1. WHERE ARE YOU?

Genesis 3:9
9 But the Lord God called to the man, “Where are you?

· Adam where are you? He wasn’t living by the Father’s food. He was eating from the wrong table and tree

He ate something that was not really good for him.
It looked like food but did not nourish.
It shut his spiritual eyes down; he was blinded by deception and eating of the wrong tree

Genesis 3:1-13 KJ2000
1Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, has God said, you shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
2And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:
3But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, You shall not eat of it, neither shall you touch it, lest you die.4And the serpent said unto the woman, You shall not surely die:5For God does know that in the day you eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and you shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.6And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.7And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.8And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden.9And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where are you?10And he said, I heard your voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.11And he said, Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten of the tree, of which I commanded you that you should not eat?12And the man said, The woman whom you gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat.13And the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this that you have done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat.

Serpent – subtle

SERPENT: A SNAKEto hiss, i.e. whisper a (magic) spell; generally, to prognosticate

ROOT WORD OF SERPENTIS: To practice divination, divine, observe signs, learn by experience, diligently observe, practice fortunetelling or sorcery. To be subtle, be shrewd, be crafty, beware, take crafty counsel, be prudent & false wisdom.

Subtle: also means to make naked, to uncover.

This is what the serpent by deception caused Adam and Eve to be naked and uncovered by God’s glory and His light. The glory covered them, but now they were naked.

Eve was deceived lured away from her destiny & purpose by wrong having the wrong vision and eating the wrong food. Her eyes were not fixed on the right thing.

2 Corinthians 11:3 NLT But I fear that somehow your pure and undivided (single)devotion to Christ will be corrupted, just as Eve was deceived by the cunning ways of the serpent.

Single: "simplicity, sincerity, unaffectedness", not double or divided vision, liberal and copious, and abundant bestowal.

Giving the all of yourself fully and completely to Jesus

The virtue of one that is free from pretense and hypocrisy
Not self seeking, openness of heart manifesting itself by generosity

How are we deceived like Eve?

When we are not looking or keeping our eyes on Jesus and when we don’t listen or obey God’s Word the serpent will uncover us. Hebrews 12:1-2

We go from Glory to glory when look at Jesus. When the serpent gets us to look at the wrong tree we miss the mark.

2 Corinthians 3:18 looking at the glory of Jesus are transformed into the same image.

· We become what we look at, dwell on and consume.

When we are looking at what the serpent or Satan shows us as an angel of light, we will be entertaining false wisdom.( 2 Corinthians 11:4)

James 3:13-18 PT 13 If you consider yourself to be wise and one who understands the ways of God, advertise it with a beautiful, fruitful life guided by wisdom’s gentleness. Never brag or boast about what you’ve done and you’ll prove that you’re truly wise. 14 But if there is bitter jealousy or competition hiding in your heart, then don’t deny it and try to compensate for it by boasting and being phony. 15 For that has nothing to do with God’s heavenly wisdom but can best be described as the wisdom of this world, both selfish and devilish.[So wherever jealousyand selfishness are uncovered, you will also find many troublesand every kind of meanness. 17 But the wisdom from above is always pure, filled with peace, considerate and teachable. It is filled with loveand never displays prejudice or hypocrisyin any form 18 and it always bears the beautiful harvest of righteousness! Good seeds of wisdom’s fruit will be planted with peaceful acts by those who cherish making peace.

· Satan has three main temptations. They are rooted in selfishness and pride.

Provision Position, presumption (doing your own selfish will not what you see Jesus do, Jesus say or Jesus pray)

SATAN ALWAYS TRIES TO GET YOU TO DO WHAT HE DID TO EVE IN THE GARDEN. THE FIRST TEMPTATION WAS FOR MAN TO LOOK AT AND EAT THE WRONG TREE

1. TURN THESE STONES TO BREAD (IT IS WRITTEN MAN SHALL NOT LIVE BY BREAD ALONE BUT BY EVERY WORD THAT PROCEEDS FROM GOD’S MOUTH) (Deuteronomy 8:3)

2. CAST YOURSELF DOWN FROM HERE, SURELY IF YOU ARE GOD’S SON HE WILL SEND HIS ANGELS TO RESCUE YOU. (IT IS WRITTEN, DON’T PRESUME OR TEMPT GOD. (Deuteronomy 6:16)

Presumption is to test God. Ask God to be a part of what He is blessing and doing. It is not right for you to ask God to bless something or back up which is not His will.

3. I WILL GIVE YOU THE KINGDOMS AND POWER & GLORY OF THE WORLD. (ITS IS WRITTEN WORSHIP AND SERVE ONLY YAHEWEH, (Deuteronomy 6:13)
THE END GAME IS FOR US TO ALL FINISH OUR RACE & DO WHAT IS WRITTEN FOR US TO DO. JESUS FINISHED THE WORK THE FATHER GAVE HIM TO DO.

WE MUST ALSO FINISH OUR RACE.

1 Kings 19:9-18 LB 9 where he lived in a cave. But the Lord said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”
10 He replied, “I have worked very hard for the Lord God of the heavens; but the people of Israel have broken their covenant with you and torn down your altars and killed your prophets, and only I am left; and now they are trying to kill me too.”11 “Go out and stand before me on the mountain,” the Lord told him. And as Elijah stood there the Lord passed by, and a mighty windstorm hit the mountain; it was such a terrible blast that the rocks were torn loose, but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind, there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. 12 And after the earthquake, there was a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire, there was the sound of a gentle whisper. 13 When Elijah heard it, he wrapped his face in his scarf and went out and stood at the entrance of the cave. And a voice said, “Why are you here, Elijah?”
14 He replied again, “I have been working very hard for the Lord God of the armies of heaven, but the people have broken their covenant and have torn down your altars; they have killed every one of your prophets except me; and now they are trying to kill me too.”15 Then the Lord told him, “Go back by the desert road to Damascus, and when you arrive, anoint Hazael to be king of Syria. 16 Then anoint Jehu (son of Nimshi) to be king of Israel, and anoint Elisha (the son of Shaphat of Abel-meholah) to replace you as my prophet. 17 Anyone who escapes from Hazael shall be killed by Jehu, and those who escape Jehu shall be killed by Elisha! 18 And incidentally, there are 7,000 men in Israel who have never bowed to Baal nor kissed him!”

GOD TOLD ELIJAH I HAVE THREE MORE THINGS FOR YOU TO DO.

GOD WISHPERED FOR ELIJAH TO GET OUT OF THE CAVE AND DO WHAT YAHEWEH HAD CALLED HIM TO DO.
CAN YOU HEAR GOD’S WHISPER?

WHERE ARE YOU?
WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?
WHAT ARE YOU EATING?
