Letters from Prison - Philippians
Our new series is called "Letters from Prison" - which is a study of Paul's prison epistles. One of these prison epistles is the book of Philippians. It's predominant theme is "joy." Have you ever talked to someone and they said to you, “I just want to be happy. I want to enjoy life. I want to be able to laugh again; to see the beauty that I’m now living. I just want my family to get along. I want my important relationships to work right. I want to understand life purpose better.” Quite honestly, we have probably all said these things to ourselves at one time or another. This series is for all of us who have ever had thoughts like this. It’s about releasing the tension that is already there and learning how not to create more relational tension going forward. It’s about refusing to allow circumstances to dominate our attitudes. And ironically enough, the words to Philippians were written by an incarcerated man! Welcome to Stones Hill Community Church and Online Notes!

Letters from Prison
Christianity isn’t a Joy Ride, but a Joy Road. When we travel Jesus’ road, we’ll experience more joy than just a ride. Today, we’ll talk about the right mindset to travel on the Joy Road of Philippians 4.
God give us…
A Big Heart
A Firm Stance
A Warm Embrace
A Merry Soul
A Relaxed Body
A Clear Mind
Does this describe your life? Would you like to travel this kind of road? Perhaps you feel you're in a kind of "prison" like Paul was when he wrote the letter to the Philippians.
Turning your prison into a palace. Is this even possible?
You say, “Well, Pastor, I’m not in prison, and I don’t intend to be.” Well, there’s more than one kind of a prison, isn’t there? There are some right here who are in a dungeon of despair. Others are surrounded by walls of resistance. There are others who are in chains of poor health. Others are behind iron bars of disappointment. Some are in the bondage of circumstance. Some are immersed in technological bondage. You may feel that "There is no way out of these prisons". But how about you invite Jesus in - and lets see what happens?
