(3)Take an honest evaluation. Does your politics inform your faith, or does your faith (your Jesus filter) inform your politics? Why do you think so?
(4)Read John 13:34-35. What was the new command? Why does this verse say this is so important? This new command will point people toward Jesus and He is the only answer to the divisiveness in our world. What do you think loving like this in your every day world, might look like?
(5)Read Ephesians 4:1-6. Where is our unity to be found? Unity is not around sameness, uniformity, same political leanings, but around Jesus and His mission. How can that focus, help you live with ore unity?
(6)Read John 17:20-23. We can disagree politically and love unconditionally. What do you notice about this passage, our mission, what Jesus was getting at, how we’re called to live? According to Jesus’ prayer, why is unity so important?
(7)When it comes to unity & politics, what’s a next step for you? Who can you love unconditionally this week that you don’t agree with politically?
