It doesn't matter what you believe about God as long as you are sincere.

“Jesus said, I am the way the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” John 14:6

“You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die” Genesis 2:16-17.

Instead of believing what they knew as the truth about God they deliberately chose to believe lies. Romans 1:25 TLB

1. It matters what you believe about yourself
The enemy wants to steal your IDENTITY

If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. 2 Corinthians 5:17

The Devil knows your name but calls you by your sin;
God knows your sin, but calls you by your name

…in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. Ephesians 2:7

2. It matters what you believe about others
The enemy wants to kill your RELATIONSHIPS

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Ephesians 6:12

YOU CAN’T BE RIGHT WITH GOD AND WRONG WITH YOUR BROTHER

And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near. Hebrews 10:24-25

3. It matters what you believe about God
The enemy wants to destroy your POTENTIAL

For the LORD God is our light and protector. He gives us grace and glory. No good thing will the LORD withhold from those who do what is right. Psalms 84:11

Psalm 145:18 says, The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.

Romans 3:4 NCV says, "God will continue to be true even when every person is false."

It truly matters what you believe

Timothy, guard what has been entrusted to your care. Turn away from godless chatter and the opposing ideas of what is falsely called knowledge, which some have professed and in so doing have departed from the faith. 1 Timothy 6:20,21

I commit myself to seeking the truth
There's going to come a time when people won't listen to the truth, but they will go around looking for teachers who tell them just what they want to hear. 1 Timothy 4:1 TLB

I commit myself to living the truth

We will no longer be like children, forever changing our minds about what we believe because somebody has told us something different or has cleverly lied to us and made the lie sound like the truth. Instead we will lovingly follow the truth at all times speaking truly, dealing truly, living truly, and so become more and more in every way like Christ. Ephesians 4:14,15 TLB
