Prejudice is “a curse of the human condition” caused by our sinful nature.
I. Peter in Trouble (11:1-3)
Issue - Peter did not command that these Gentile believers be circumcised, but only to be baptized.
II. Peter's Defense (11:4-17)
Cornelius and his household were saved by believing in the same gospel he preached to the Jews.
III. The Apostles Change their Minds (11:18)
The Jews were not intended to be the end of God's purposes, but the means to an end.

Discussion Questions

1. So was Peter a racist? What did God teach him about loving all people?

2. What do we learn about the others who were “late adopters” of accepting the Gentiles? (Hint: People can change and God can change them)

3. How is the Gospel the “great equalizer” when it comes to humanity?

4. The Apostles changed their minds. What are some ways that you have “changed your mind” in your journey with Christ?
