God's Word Is The Best Sours For God's Voice
As Joshua and the people of Israel were preparing to enter the Promised Land, God was concerned that they would forget His instructions. Canaan was full of new, strange, alluring voices. He wanted them to listen to His voice. So before they entered the land, God told Joshua in Joshua 1:7-8: "Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go. This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success." Joshua was reminded what we often forget..."God's Word Is The Best Source For God's Voice". Join us tomorrow as we continue our series "Enter Your Promise Land".

It wasn’t enough for Joshua to possess the Scriptures; God wanted the Scriptures to possess Joshua. God did not tell him to create law or invent statutes but to be regulated by what was “written.”

Greg Hawkins and Cally Parkinson, in the research for their book Move, set out to find the key factors for spiritual growth. They asked the same question that we are asking: How do we move out of the wilderness into Canaan? Out of weak faith into life-giving faith? Their summary: "Nothing has a greater impact on spiritual growth than reflection on Scripture. If churches could do only one thing to help people at all levels of spiritual maturity grow in their relationship with Christ, their choice is clear. They would inspire, encourage, and equip their people to read the Bible."

The key to spiritual growth is not increased church attendance or involvement in spiritual activities. People don’t grow in Christ because they are busy at church. They grow in Christ when they read and trust their Bibles.
We all face strongholds with a strong hold on our lives. Roadblocks to our joy. Obstacles in our marriages. Fortresses of fear blocking us from peace. How can we bring down these walls that keep us from the future God promises? The book of Joshua is in the Bible to remind us of one thing: God Fights For Us! We can overcome, because He has already overcome. And He has given you your own Promise Land. Join us each Sunday for our new series that challenges each of us to Enter Your Promise Land.
