The Outlet is a place where the curious, the unconvinced, the skeptical, the use-to-believe, the broken, as well as the committed, informed, and sold-out come together around the truth that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God.

Soul Therapy
Matthew 11:28-30; Mark 8:34-37

Matthew 11:28-30

Mark 8:34-37

There is a way to live a relaxed, unhurried, contented life in Jesus amid the pressures and difficulties of life. There is a way to mature spiritually anchored in the love of God. There is a way to remain thoughtful when triggered in conversations, and to listen for God’s voice in those experiences. There is a way to surrender to God’s love and will when we are tempted to lash out or be judgmental—even when it is difficult. There is a way to give our lives in service to others without becoming chronically exhausted.

Soul Therapy is learning to become aware of God’s presence constantly.
Is there anything worth more than my soul?
Foundation

- We are a 3 part being (1 Thessalonians 5:23)
- The Word is the only tool to separate the Soul and Spirit (Hebrews 4:12)
- You know in your spirit (1 John 2:20), You believe in your soul (Romans 10:10)

Man is a 3 Part Being (Spirit, Soul, Body)

What is my Soul?

Commonly known as Mind (Thoughts/Imagination), Will (Heart), and Emotions (Feelings)

Hebrew and Greek words for soul can often be translated as:
- life
- the quality of life

One study of the Hebrew term yielded over 750 uses, which can be sorted into 10 categories. Major usages communicate:
• indicate meanings of desire (Pss 25:1; 42:2)
• personal or individual being (Gen 12:5; Lev 2:1)
• a conscious self (Lev 11:44–45)
• emotional state (Gen 26:35; Job 21:4; Eccl 7:9).
What is Therapy?
- Treatment to cure or to heal

Why do I Need Soul Therapy?
- We have been taught to not say anything about our emotions or to ignore them for the sake of our spiritual realities.

- “What do you wish had been different, better, or more?” will always help you find what is incomplete. If we do not identify different, better, or more, we begin to make the death or other loss responsible for how bad we feel.
- As long as we believe that someone or something else is responsible, we’re unable to recover.
