Volunteers:
Remember they are VOLUNTEERS, here's some practical advice.
Thank Them, and thank them profusely
Volunteer deacons in our church have kids, a full time job, a wife that they love deeply, sometimes even grandkids. Every minute they spend GIVING their time as a SERVANT, is another minute spent away from their job and their family.
They are not your PERSONAL Servant
They are not the newest photo on your dart board.
They are not always the highest trained individual in their field of VOLUNTEER service.
They are receptive to Gratitude, even though they'll tell you it isn't needed.
They are open to constructive criticism, if they fit the qualities of a deacon, they want to grow and get better.
They are held to serving a higher power, not you, but God.
And God loves a Servant, so you should too.
