Eschatology= A combination of two Greek words, eschatos-“last,” and logos, “the word,” meaning “the study of the last word,” or “the doctrine of the last things.”

definition 1: the study of the final events in the history of the world or of humankind, including death, final Judgment, heaven and hell.

definition 2: the doctrine of Christian hope

Personal Eschatology is what happens to us as individuals in the end; World Eschatology is what happens to the world in the end.

#10—I want us to stand in AWE of scripture!
#9—God’s story is INCOMPLETE without the Ending.

#8—The End of the Story affects our VIEW OF GOD.

We live in a world of pain and suffering. The most common question/ objection that people have. We feel that God is absent, that God doesn’t care. Instead what if we were able to hit the FF button on the history of the world. Jesus comes back, eradicates cancer, ends child abuse and takes every victimizer and holds them accountable for their evil.
In short, God hates evil and suffering and is coming back to end it.
#7—It's easy to miss THE MAIN POINT.

#6—Thinking about the end can help us “get” our IDENTITY.

#5—Thinking about the end can/must help us live with PASSION now.

“If you read history you will find that the Christians who did most for the present world were precisely those who thought most of the next. It is since Christians have largely ceased to think of the other world that they have become so ineffective in this.” C.S. Lewis

Eschatology teaches us to take sin seriously, to take God’s word seriously, to take our lives—our one life before he returns—seriously.

#4—Thinking about the end makes some people WEIRD…Don’t be weird.
#3—Thinking about the end offers HOPE in suffering.
#2—Thinking about the end reveals our place in human history NOW.

#1-Thinking about the end focuses on JESUS.
