vss. 31-35
The image made of gold, sliver, bronze, iron, clan
The stone that becomes a mountain and totally destroys any trace of the image
vss. 3-7; 10-13
Calm vss. 14-15
Prayer vss. 17-18
God's Answer vs 19
Daniel's Praise vs 20-23
Daniel before the king vss 27-30
The interpretation vss 36-45
- The head of gold is the Babylonian empire
- the other parts of the image are other kingdoms of the earth that will come after Babylonian (much speculation on what these kingdoms are; may be Medo-Persian empire, Greek empire, Roman empire)
- the stone that became a mountain is the Kingdom of God
Earthly kingdoms will come and go, but the Kingdom of God will last forever!
The stone that became the mountain represents Jesus Christ.
1. Jesus' first coming: He ushers in the Kingdom of God
2. Now: The kingdom of God is spreading to every tribe, tongue, and nation
3: Jesus' second coming: The kingdom of God will be realized in its fullness
