OPENING HYMN…“Blest Be the Tie That Binds”…….LSB 649
1 Blest be the tie that binds
Our hearts in Christian love;
The fellowship of kindred minds
Is like to that above.
2 Before our Father’s throne
We pour our ardent prayers;
Our fears, our hopes, our aims are one,
Our comforts and our cares.

THE INVOCATION:

P: In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
C: Amen.

WE CONFESS OUR SIN AND RECEIVE GOD’S FORGIVENESS:
P: Almighty God, we confess our many sins in doing those things You have forbidden, and not doing what You have commanded. You have called us into a living faith—one that shares all the blessings received. Lord, we have not always shared the hope you place in our hearts and in our homes. Forgive our blindness to Your vision for mission, our deafness to Your call to go, our failure to run with a sense of urgency.

C: Cleanse us with Your full and free forgiveness and challenge us by Your Spirit’s call to run a new path with clear vision for Your saving mission, for the sake of Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

P: Almighty God has had mercy on us and has given His Son to die for us, and for His sake has forgiven us all our sins. Power to become the children of God is given to all who believe in the name of Jesus Christ and they receive the promise of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is sure and certain, that whoever believes and is baptized shall be saved.
C: Amen.

PSALM OF THE DAY………………………………...Psalm 127
P: Unless the Lord builds the house,
C: those who build it labor in vain.
P: Unless the Lord watches over the city,
C: the watchman stays awake in vain.
P: It is in vain that you rise up early
C: and go late to rest,
P: eating the bread of anxious toil;
C: for he gives to his beloved sleep.
P: Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord,
C: the fruit of the womb a reward.
P: Like arrows in the hand of a warrior
C: are the children of one's youth.
P: Blessed is the man
C who fills his quiver with them!
P: He shall not be put to shame
C: when he speaks with his enemies in the gate.
P: Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit;
C: as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen.

PRAYER OF THE DAY
P: Lord Jesus, You called Your followers to love one another. Give to us Your Holy Spirit that we may embrace each other with Your love and encourage each other to live the faith as a witness to the world. We pray this in Your holy name.
C: Amen.
NICENE CREED
I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth and of all things visible and invisible.
And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of His Father before all worlds, God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God, begotten, not made, Being of one substance with the Father, by whom all things were made; who for us men and for our salvation came down from heaven and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the Virgin Mary And was made man; And was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate. He suffered and was buried; And the third day He rose again according to the Scriptures; And ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of the Father; And He will come again with glory to judge both the living and the dead; whose kingdom will have no end.
And I believe in the Holy Spirit, The Lord and giver of life, Who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified, who spoke by the Prophets. And I believe one holy Christian and Apostolic Church, I acknowledge one Baptism for the remission of sins, and I look for the resurrection of the dead; and the life of the world to come. Amen.

SERMON HYMN ..“Blest Be the Tie That Binds”…….LSB 649
3 We share our mutual woes,
Our mutual burdens bear,
And often for each other flows
The sympathizing tear.
4 When here our pathways part,
We suffer bitter pain;
Yet, one in Christ and one in heart,
We hope to meet again.

PRAYERS OF THE CHURCH

LORD’S PRAYER
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven; give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen.
