Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Gifts
Expand
It’s time to start collecting! Help spread the Gospel to needy children everywhere, with a simple shoebox gift! Fill your shoeboxes with toys, crayons, school supplies, a stuffed animal, and hygiene items. (Remember, no liquids, toothpaste, or candy - see OCC handout for ideas!) Operation Christmas Child will send these shoebox gifts along with the Gospel message all over the world! You may fill a free shoebox from OCC or one of your own, or you can fill one online by going to this link: www.operationchristmaschild.com. If you’d like more information on how to fill a shoebox, please see Suzanne Price or call the church office at 864-232-7312. OCC Shoebox Collection Sunday at PSBC is November 15th. A small shoebox can have a big impact. What goes into the box is fun, but what comes out of it is eternal.

Home Group/Study Questions
These questions are provided for your further study and application of today’s sermon. Thoughtfully writing out the answers to these questions will help to drive home the truths we are learning.

1. Was there any passage of scripture or statement in the message today that was particularly meaningful or applicable to you?
2. Read Genesis 3:16-19. While these are certainly difficult words to read (especially because they still apply today), how can it help us to know that these things are precisely what God has ordered for the present age?
3. Read 1 Corinthians 15:51-55 and Philippians 3:20-21. Why should these verses occupy more of our thinking? How do we hold these in view without becoming unsympathetic about the real problems of the here and now?
4. Read Proverbs 3:5-8. How does trusting God “first and foremost” in the midst of our pain bring us “refreshment” even when our illnesses are not healed and the physical pain does not subside?
5. Read Job 2:4-10 and James 5:10-11. What specific motivation can you derive from Job? What is at stake when you are not patient in your suffering?
