LYRICS FOR TODAY'S SONGS

God Is Able

Verse 1
God is able
He will never fail
He is Almighty God
Greater than all we seek
Greater than all we ask
He has done great things

Chorus
Lifted up He defeated the grave
Raised to life our God is able
In His Name we overcome
For the Lord our God is able

Verse 2
God is with us
God is on our side
He will make a way
Far above all we know
Far above all we hope
He has done great things

Bridge
God is with us
He will go before
He will never leave us
He will never leave us
God is for us
He has open arms
He will never fail us
He will never fail us

Ending
For the Lord our God is able
For the Lord our God is able

Refiner's Fire

Verse 1
Purify my heart
Let me be as gold
And precious silver
Purify my heart
Let me be as gold
Pure gold

Chorus
Refiner's fire
My heart's one desire
Is to be holy
Set apart for You Lord
I choose to be holy
Set apart for You my Master
Ready to do Your will

Verse 2
Purify my heart
Cleanse me from within
And make me holy
Purify my heart
Cleanse me from my sin
Deep within

NEED PRAYER?

As the family of God we're called to bear one another's burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ. If you or someone you know needs prayer, we would love to pray for you. Let us know at the link below or reach out to us at prayer@sdcfchurch.com

Goals as we look at this passage.
I. To explore the nature of pastoral ministry and church leadership
II. To explore the principle that all Christians are spiritual leaders and followers in some way.
1. WHAT a shepherd should do (v.1)
2. HOW a shepherd ought to shepherd (vv.2-3)
A. Not because you have to, but because you get to!
not under compulsion, but willingly, as God would have you
B. Not for what you might gain, but what you can joyfully give!
not for shameful gain, but eagerly
C. Not leading by force, but by example.
not domineering over those in your charge, but being examples to the flock
The way of Jesus finds its power not in dominance or force, but with service and love.
3. WHY a shepherd should shepherd (v.4)
The church needs humble shepherds like never before.
This church needs humble followers like never before.
This world needs humble spiritual leaders like never before.
