Stranger Things: Fatal Bear Hugs - Disrespecting a Holy God, Pastor Chris Sommer
Kids say the darndest things. They just say what is on their minds. They have no filter. So it is not surprising to hear that a group of small boys commented on a bald man’s head. What is surprising is that, in direct response to their comments, God sent 2 bears to maul them… 42 of them. You read that right: Jeering comments, 2 bears, 42 dead boys. Good luck explaining this one, Pastor Chris.

Pastors are Holy
--"Holy" means that something is "set apart" and devoted to God.
--A pastor has been "set apart" to publicly proclaim the Gospel on behalf of the congregation.
Elisha was Holy
--In disrespecting God's ambassador the boys were disrespecting God himself.
You are Holy
--In your baptism God set you apart, He marked you as His own.
--Saint means "holy one," so we are sinful and saints at the same time.
You are a Priest
--We are "the priesthood of all believers"
--As Christ's ambassadors we leave this place sharing the message of reconsiliation.

We believe God wants to position Faith to be a generous body of believers able to invest in missional ministry where we live, work, play and beyond; wherever God leads us to bless those who need the Gospel. Faith members and regular attenders are on a journey to discover what it means to move from being blessed to blessing others. We give with gratitude in response to God’s grace and sacrificial love in Jesus, who already has met our deepest needs. He works through the sacrifice and generosity of His people to meet the needs of others and to fuel the mission of His church to make disciples.
