Article 9 of the EFCA Statement of Faith
We believe in the personal, bodily and glorious return of our Lord Jesus Christ. The coming of Christ, at a time known only to God, demands constant expectancy and, as our blessed hope, motivates the believer to godly living, sacrificial service and energetic mission.
Therefore we must commit to:

Joyful Worship – honoring our God

“While he blessed them, he parted from them and was carried up into heaven. And they worshiped him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy.” Luke 24:51
Therefore we must commit to:

Uncompromising Holiness – preparing to be with our Bridegroom

“Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord.”
1 Thessalonians 4:17
Therefore we must commit to:

Bold Mission – working for our Master

“Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom his master has set over his household…? Blessed is that servant whom his master will find so doing when he comes.” Matthew 24:45-46
“I could have no freedom in the thought of any other circumstances or business in life: All my desire was the conversion of the heathen, and all my hope was in God: God does not suffer me to please or comfort myself with hopes of seeing friends, returning to my dear acquaintance, and enjoying worldly comforts.”
David Brainerd
