Inside the amygdala (part of your brain) is a HUGE library that stores all of the emotional perceptions you have developed while building memory. Information pours into this part of your brain which stores emotional perceptions (filters) that occur each time a memory is built. In other words, every time you build a memory you activate emotions. Now imagine you had a math teacher who shouted at you and said you would never be able to do math, you would have stored that memory in a part of your brain called the cerebrum. Thereafter, every time you do math or anything related to the subject, you will re-experience those negative feelings of shame, hurt and fear because all “math” information first passes through the amygdala, activating the “library” of negative toxic “math” feelings. It would be as if you picked up the library book that says, “I can’t do math: I am scared of math…” This makes the “math experience” a negative one. Not surprisingly, you will struggle to learn anything new about math, because negative feelings inside the amygdala literally block the learning function process. This emotion you feel from the amygdala is reactive and strong enough TO CONTROL AND EVEN OVERRIDE ANY INHERENT POSITIVE ELEMENTS THAT THERE MAY BE IN A THOUGHT. The amygdala dominates and controls the cortex PREVENTING YOUR NATURAL REASONING FROM EXERTING ITS INFLUENCE.”
