Welcome to Agincourt Church this morning! We're so glad you have joined us today.

See below for a short article from Pastor Jonathan, teaching notes and announcements.
This time of year reminds us of new life, fresh starts and the end of winter! What if, during this spring season, you chose to consider some new ideas about God, new pathways towards God and even a new level of connection to Jesus?

Over the next few weeks, we will explore some of the more dif cult questions surrounding God in our series; “Go Ahead and Ask.” Then we will lean into another series called, “It’s Complicated” - where we will explore being single, being married and being a parent etc. as well as the complications associated with trying to change our world and directing our money.

During this month of new beginnings, I encourage you to put your thinking cap on and be open to what God may be saying to you!

Jonathan Smith
Lead Pastor
Why is there pain and suffering in the world?
ALL-POWERFUL but not ALL-GOOD
ALL-GOOD but not ALL-POWERFUL
Why, Lord, do you stand far off? Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble?”

~Psalm 10:1
How can a good God allow suffering?
1. PHILOSOPHICAL
A. If God exists, God would not allow pointless evil
B. There is much unjustifiable pointless evil the world
C. Therefore, God does not exist
“We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time.”

~ Romans 8:22
“...that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God.”

~ Romans 8:21
“When I was an atheist, my argument against God was that the universe seemed so cruel and unjust. But how had I got this idea of just and unjust? What was I comparing this universe with when I called it unjust?”

~ C.S. Lewis
“...has planted eternity in the human heart…”

~ Ecclesiastes 3:11
“God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks to us in our conscience, but shouts in our pain: it is the megaphone to rouse a deaf world.”

~C.S. Lewis
“Rabbi,” his disciples asked him, “why was this man born blind? Was it because of his own sins or his parents’ sins?” “It was not because of his sins or his parents’ sins,” Jesus answered. “This happened so the power of God could be seen in him.”

~ John 9:2-3
