The Anger Aftershock
Anger has it's place.
Emotions are a gift from God.
Righteous anger always has a sanctifying purpose.
Our enemy is trigger happy, because he knows if he can keep you offended, he can keep you from God.
The seeds of offense are planted in the fertile soil of your mind.
So how do we get a grip on the Anger Aftershock?
Instead of surrendering to your anger, submit to repentance.
Instead of nursing a grudge, raise up some gratitude.
Instead of keeping up a grievance, work to restore a relationship.
Sometimes you just need to drop your expectations of certain people even if they are good and right and justified.
Instead of holding onto your gripes, grab on to some grace.
But now you must put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and obscene talk from your mouth.
Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.
-Colossians 3:8, 12-13
