Receiving Purpose & Power

Receiving Purpose & Power

Sometimes things can feel a bit fuzzy when it comes to who or what the church is exactly, or what its role should be in the world. The historical accounts in the book of Acts describe several key defining moments in the life of the early church – a gathered people, called out of darkness and empowered by the Holy Spirit, being transformed by the gospel into a community of people who seek to live out the values of God's kingdom. Discover how these early defining moments can also bring clarity for us, shaping us into the people God is creating us to be even still today.

Next Week's Text

We make decisions constantly. Many seem routine that we make almost without thinking. But what about those obviously significant decisions that are going to have great impact on our lives? How should we make those? One of the early defining moments the church experienced occurred when she was seeking guidance to make an important decision. We'll see how her decision-making is described and then see how it seems to be prescribing truth for us!
