Going Deeper is designed for use with your small group, a friend or on you own. Its aim is to create time for you to spend with God and his word. Do as much or as little as you like. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact one of our pastoral staff.

1. Pray for the needs of your Life Group, for our church and our leaders, for personal and corporate renewal, and to allow God’s word to transform us. Share a recent entry from your Life Journal with the group.

2. The Easter Sunday message focused on the nature of God as revealed in the 7 miracles of Jesus recorded in the Gospel of John. What thoughts or questions did the message raise for you? Which thoughts or points encouraged you or posed a challenge to you?

3. Which of these 7 miracles is most meaningful to you/or is the hardest for you to understand? Water into wine (Ch.2), healing of the nobleman’s son (Ch.4), healing of the lame man (Ch.5), feeding of the 5,000 (Ch.6), walking on water (Ch.6), healing the blind man (Ch.9), raising of Lazarus (Ch.11).

4. As a group, choose to explore one or two of these miracles in order to see what they disclose about Jesus.

5.What real difference does this miracle make in your life?

6.Read John 20:1-18 out loud. What is your favourite part of the resurrection account? What do you find difficult or puzzling?

7. Take a moment of silence as you consider how God is speaking to you. Do you sense an invitation to something new? What concrete steps of response do you want to take? How can your group support you in these steps?
