The biggest obstacle to our relationship with God could be our religion…through this series I hope we will all quit religion
· Losing our religious experiences that hinder us
· Losing our religious pride
· Losing our religious hypocrisy
· Losing our religious approach to God
Essentially there are three ways to relate to God:
1. Irreligion
2. Religion
3. Gospel
Religion is relating to God from a place of duty, working through human effort to gain his approval or love
Paul was fixated and compliant with the religious procedures of Judaism
Paul’s religion had short-term gain but long-term loss
Paul had to lose his religion in order to gain Christ
Jesus Christ is greater than religion
