God’s perfect plan includes imperfect people
God will take us backward so we can move forward
God: “Let me go, for it is daybreak.”
Jacob: “I won’t let you go until you bless me.”
God: “What is your name?”
Jacob: “Jacob.”
God: “Your name will no longer be Jacob, but “Israel” because you have struggled with God and with men and have overcome.”
Jacob: “Please tell me your name.”
God: “Why do you ask my name?”
And he blessed him there.

God comes to us asking who we are, not what have we done
Rather than being hindered by our past we can be driven by it
A redeemed past is the most impactful tool we have to minister to others
