Seven - Part 5

Seven - Part 5

One of Jesus’ closest friends, John, witnessed Jesus perform dozens, if not hundreds, of miracles. When he penned the Gospel of John, he only chose seven of them to highlight who Jesus was (and is!) and the difference he can make in our lives. Join us for this new series as we focus on how amazing Jesus is, and consider what he is capable of in our lives.

We have all experienced the sinking feeling associated with being lost. It’s a scary feeling. We reach out for something familiar or a sign to point the way. Often, it’s only when we realize we are lost that we are willing to ask for help. Jesus described our spiritual condition apart from him as being lost. This Easter, we will explore how Jesus is the destination for the lost.

Problem: What do I do when life feels out of control?

Solution: Trust in the One who has always been in control.

John 6:16-21

Trust in the one who has always been in control

Psalms 107:28-30

Exodus 3:14-15

John 6:19-20

The greek is Ἐγώ εἰμι - Translated literally it says “I AM”
I AM the God of Abraham and Issac and Jacob.
I AM the God who brought you out of Egypt
I AM the God who satisfies your Hunger
I AM the God who is the Source of Joy
I AM the God who you can place your faith in
I AM the God who has always been
I AM the God who calms the storms
I AM the God who is in control

Mark 6:51-52

Matthew 14:32-33

John 6:66-69

You were never in control in the first place.

Trust in the one who has always been in control
How do we Trust in the one who has always been in control?

•Place your Faith and Trust in Christ - Recognize that He is the I AM

•Pray - Talk to God about your storm, invite him into your circumstances

Romans 8:26 - “In the same way the Spirit also helps us in our weakness,
because we do not know what to pray for as we should, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with unspoken groanings.”

•Perspective - Talk to someone Wise
- Removed from the situation
- Further down the road than you
