This exhibit will include paintings of men and women who have been freed from sex trafficking depicted by artists from all over the US. The June First Friday event will provide ways to help people become more aware of the issue while engaging in various mediums. The art show will be hanging in the gallery the entire month of June.

Sermon Notes | May 29, 2016
Title: Choose Your Kingdom
Speaker: Andrew Campbell, Andrewc@ChristCommunityKC.org

I. Why the kingdom feels so disappointing...
> Expect evil to remain...until judgment.
> Expect progress, slowly but surely.
II. Why the kingdom is worth everything...
> Expect to give everything and gain all you need.
Conversation Starters - Shawnee Mission

Takeaway: What captured your attention in this week’s sermon? What did God teach you?
SCRIPTURE. Read Matthew 13:24-35. What things about God and his kingdom have been disappointing to you? Things you didn’t expect when you first began to follow him?
OBSERVATION. Andrew made the point that the kingdom can be disappointing to us because, according to Jesus, on earth it is mixed, not pure; it’s slow, not sudden; and not everyone gets it. How does Jesus’ descriptions of the kingdom in these ways help to explain our disappointments?
APPLICATION. Jesus teaches in the parables of the pearl and the treasure that the kingdom is worth giving everything else up for it. Do you feel that the kingdom is worth giving up everything you currently have? If not, why is that? If so, share why you feel it is and what you have given up in the past and/or what you think you may need to give up now.
Prayer: How can we pray for you to do the will of the Father in the upcoming week?
