CONVERSATION STARTERS – Olathe Campus

ICEBREAKER. What captured your attention in this week’s sermon?
SCRIPTURE. Read Matthew 13:24-35. What things about God and his kingdom have been disappointing to you? Things you didn’t expect when you first began to follow him?

OBSERVATION. Stephen made the points that the kingdom can be disappointing to us because, according to Jesus, it’s opposed; it’s slow; and it’s not for everyone. In what ways does Jesus’ descriptions of the kingdom help to explain or encourage us when we face disappointments or challenges?

GROWTH. Read Matthew 13:31-32. The Kingdom starts slow and small...but look at it now. How have you seen this parable fulfilled? In what ways does this give you hope that the Kingdom is still advancing and growing?

PRAYER. Pray for one another that you would each come to treasure Jesus and His kingdom so much that you would be willing to give up everything for it.
