What comes to mind when you envision the ideal husband? Tall, dark, and handsome? Well, God has a different standard when it comes to the one who will lead a marriage. Discover the biblical description of what a husband must be by looking at Ephesians 5.

5. Mystical Thinking
It is an act of the will followed by emotion and leads to action on behalf of it’s object

Read Ephesians 5:25-32

1. Love can be described as an act of the will, accompanied by emotion, leading to action on behalf of its object v25. How does this description of love differ from the romantic ideal that our culture promotes?

2. A husband is to lead in the Word v26. Why is it important for the husband to take the lead in the spiritual life of the family?

3. A husband is to lead in righteousness v27. What happens when a husband doesn’t set an example by the way he lives his life?

4. A husband is to lead in selflessness v28-30. How can you be intentional about putting others first?
5. A husband is to lead in intimacy v31. How do you develop intimacy in marriage?

6. Marriage is an illustration of the relationship between Christ and the church v32. What do you want your marriage to say to a watching world?
