1 Corinthians 11:1 NIV
An Imitation of Christ
the family structure has been destructured.
1 Cor. 11:1
KJV--Be ye followers of me,even as I also [am] of Christ.
ASV--Be ye imitators of me, even as I also am of Christ
Bible in Basic English--So take me for your example, even as I take Christ for mine
Weymount New Testament--Be imitators of me, in so far as I in turn am an imitator of Christ.
World English Bible--Be imitators of me, even as I also am of Christ.
Young's Literal Translation--Followers of me become ye, as I also am of Christ
NKJ--Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ.
To imitate means to model after something or someone. It means to emulate their mannerisms. It means to mimic (that's the Greek word-- mimetes--mim-ay-tace) but it has a deeper meaning. It means to follow.
