2 Timothy 1:1-12

God has given us the Spirit of Power! Vs.7

God is concerned with balance

•As Paul sends his greeting to Timothy in vs. 2 he uses a balanced approach.

•2 To Timothy, my dear son: Grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.

Grace = Unmerited favor

Grace has longevity

Grace carries the idea of LOVE

John 3:16-19

1 John 3:23-24

1 Jn. 3:16 tells us to put our grace/love into action!

•Lay down our lives for others.
•Help those who are in need.
•Put our love into action.

Forgiveness falls into the arena of love and grace.

Concerning another important aspect of the Christian life Paul says these words –

13 What you heard from me, keep as the pattern of sound teaching, with faith and love in Christ Jesus. 14 Guard the good deposit that was entrusted to you-guard it with the help of the Holy Spirit who lives in us. 2 Tim 1:13-14 NIV

The instruction = hold fast to sound (uncorrupt) teaching.

Romans 1:21-23

Love is deliberate.

It carries on even when you don’t want to.

Fellowship Lunch
