Main points covered so far
1. We gotta have vision for our lives!
2. Bitterness, cynicism and apathy will kill the work of God in your soul
3. Integrity Matters; What God does IN you is key to what God does THROUGH you

Genesis 40:1-4

“Faithfulness is consecration in overalls.” Evelyn Underhill.
Are you faithful in your marriage?
Are you faithful in serving in h2o?
Are you faithful in your vocation?

Genesis 40:5-7

Big Idea— Knowing God can give you a crazy positive perspective in life.

Genesis 40:8-23

second big idea— Endurance is almost omnipotent because WAITING introduces us to HOPE.

“WAIT,” by Ann
Desperately, helplessly, longingly, I cried:
quietly, patiently, lovingly God replied.
I pled and I wept for a clue to my fate,
and the Master so gently said, "Child, you must wait."

"Wait? You say 'wait'," my indignant reply,
"Lord, I need answers. I need to know why!
"Is your hand shortened? Or have you not heard?
"By faith I have asked and am claiming your word.

"My future and all to which I can relate hangs in the balance, and YOU tell me "Wait?"

"I'm needing a 'yes', a go-ahead sign,
"or even a 'no' to which I can resign.
"And, Lord, You promised that if we believe
"we need but to ask, and we shall receive.
"And, Lord, I've been asking! I need a reply!"

Then quietly, softly, I learned of my fate.
As my Master replied once again, " You must wait."
So I slumped in my chair, defeated and taut.
And grumbled to God, "So I'm waiting.... for what?"

He seemed then to kneel, and His eyes wept with mine,
and He tenderly said, "I could give you a sign.
"I could shake the heavens and darken the sun.
"I could raise the dead, cause the mountains to run.

"All you seek, I could give, and pleased you would be.
"You would have what you want -- but you wouldn't know Me.
"You'd not know the depth of my love for each saint;
"You'd not know the power that I give to the faint;

"You'd not learn to see through clouds of despair;
"You'd not learn to trust just by knowing I'm there;
"You'd not know the joy of resting in Me,
"when darkness and silence were all you could see;

"You'd never experience the fullness of love
"as the peace of My Spirit descends like a dove;
"You'd know that I give and I save (for a start),
"but you'd not know the depth of the beat of My heart,

"The glow of my My comfort late in the night,
"the faith that I give when you walk without sight,
"the depth that's beyond getting just what you what you asked,
"of an infinite God, who makes what you have LAST.

"So, be silent, My child, and in time you will see
"that the greatest of gifts is to get to know Me.
"And though oft may My answers seem terribly late,
"my most precious answer of all is still, 'WAIT.'"

Hebrews 10:36

The book, Pilgrim’s Progress, gives the example of Christian, who grows impatient with how long his trip is taking, so he takes a short-cut, leaves the way, and is captured by a Giant, named “Despair.” He is then held captive by Despair in the dungeon of Doubting Castle, until his friend, Hope, reminds him that he holds the key for his own release in the promises of God.

Promises that have helped me…
John 12:24-26
Isaiah 40:28-31
Isaiah 43:2
Isaiah 54:10
James 1:5
2 Corinthians 9:8
1 John 1:9
Jeremiah 29:11
Joshua 1:9
Philippians 4:19
Psalm 37:4
Philippians 4:6-7
Matthew 6:33

Genesis 41:37-52

It all boils down to two things…
(1) God is really, really BIG!
The universe, in volume, is about a billion, billion, billion, billion, billion, billion, billion, billion, billion times (10 to 81st) the volume of a human being.

(2) Divine Love fuels God’s movements in YOUR LIFE.
