RECAP: In our series Words To Live By we are sharing some of our favorite verses and how they impact us. Proverbs 3:5-6 encourages us to give everything in our lives over to God knowing that he will guide us along the way.

QUESTIONS:
1) What are some key words or phrases that have guided your life? Words to live by for you?
2)What are some ways that you feel like you have been successful in your own life? How would you describe success for yourself?
3)Read John 6:38 and Matthew 26:39. What stands out to you about these verses? What was Jesus purpose? According to these verses what do you think “success” looked like to Jesus?
4)If you had the chance to ask God for one thing, what would you ask for? King Solomon, in 1 Kings 3, had the chance to do just that. How is what Solomon asked for similar to or different from what you would ask God for?
5)Our Words to Live By this week come from Proverbs 3:5-6. What do these verses mean to you? And how do these verses sound different considering the examples of Jesus, or John the Baptist, or Solomon?
6)We’ve looked at this idea, that success comes from surrender. That it’s not about have God bless our plans, but instead asking God to help us follow his plans for our life. What do you find challenging or helpful about these ideas in your own life?
7)What is something that you know you need to surrender to God today?

PRAYER:
God, we often get busy doing our own thing, living out our own plans for our life. Our temptation can be to ask you to bless those things, but you invite us into a life of surrender. You ask us to trust you with everything. You promise to guide us and be with us. Help us to hand over our plans for life and trust your plans for our own lives. Strengthen us and allow us for strive for our best life found in you. Amen.
